Tara Holmes Joins Uppercut as EP of Business Development

Uppercut is excited to announce the addition of Tara Holmes as Executive Producer of Business Development. With her extensive experience and passion for building meaningful partnerships, Tara will play a key role in helping Uppercut expand its creative capabilities and drive continued growth.
Before stepping into the world of post-production, Tara’s career began in theater. She studied at Marymount Manhattan College, majoring in Theater Arts, and worked as a freelance stage manager for Off-Broadway productions. Reflecting on that time, she shares, “That experience gave me the foundation I needed for both producing and business development—it taught me how to adapt, stay organized, and think on my feet. To me, there’s nothing like calling cues for a live show, but navigating high-pressure client requests and finding creative solutions on the fly gives me that same adrenaline rush. Both require quick thinking, precision, and the ability to bring a vision to life under pressure.”

Tara joins us from Assembly, where she served as Vice President of Commercial Services, leading a team of Emmy Award-winning VFX artists on notable projects such as the Kia Times Square Live Proposal and Jimmy Kimmel’s Oscar promo, taking audiences on a Barbie-sized journey to the Oscars.
Her extensive commercial experience includes high-profile collaborations with top brands and agencies, such as Michelob Ultra’s Super Bowl spot starring Jimmy Fallon for FCB Chicago, Avocados from Mexico with Molly Ringwald for Energy BBDO, Snickers’ iconic Betty White campaign for BBDO, and Planters featuring Ken Jeong and Joel McHale for VaynerMedia.
Tara’s expertise spans editorial, VFX, color grading, beauty, and finishing work, and she brings a proven track record of delivering exceptional creative solutions. “I’m thrilled to join Uppercut, especially alongside Executive Producer Lisa Sadek,” Tara shares. “The first thing I noticed when I walked into the studio was the collaborative spirit here! It is incredibly infectious, and I can’t wait to work with the talented team to help shape the future of Uppercut and build strong relationships with our clients.”

“Tara and I have been friends for years, and I absolutely adore her,” says Lisa Sadek, Executive Producer of Uppercut NY seconding Tara’s enthusiasm to work side by side. “The moment I heard she might be available, I knew it was kismet. She brings such a unique mix of warmth, intelligence, and deep industry knowledge—having her on board is truly a dream.”
Owner and Editor Micah Scarpelli adds, “We’re beyond excited to welcome Tara to the Uppercut team. Her wealth of experience and deep understanding of both the creative and business sides of the industry are invaluable. Personally, I couldn’t be more thrilled to work alongside her—her energy, expertise, and vision align perfectly with where we want to take Uppercut.”
